So tonight I feel very reflective. My friend had nonchalantly asked, who are you most grateful to in the midst of the pandemic?
Of course, family, friends, health care workers, essential workers, Dr. Fauci and OF COURSE, Lyndsey Gallagher.
My heart will always be filled with gratitude and respect not only for her ability as a lawyer/ advocate but more so for her compassion as a human being.
In the midst of my frantic search to find help for my son’s predicament in school, I found this beautiful soul. There is something to be said about being lifted from a place of confusion and desperation to a place of hope and validation.
When you’re standing in the middle of an arena determined to win the fight for your child, would you not want an ally who is undeterred and unwilling to give up? Her sheer resilience and energy matched my determination and dedication to fight for my son.
With her there’s always a feeling of comfort, never abandonment; a warm hug, never a cold treatment; understanding, never doubt.
My prayers were intense, purposeful and humble as I asked for guidance, strength and wisdom. When I found Lyndsey, I knew God had answered my unrelenting prayers. There is no shame in asking for help. There are battles you fight alone; there are battles you fight with an army. Lyndsey stood with our family like a fierce warrior. With her, we never felt alone. She was there to assist, educate, calm and defend. She was both reassuring and supportive, never condescending and arrogant.
I know that the road of life is strewn with both laughter and tears. I know that just as we celebrate triumphs and successes we must be prepared to battle life’s adversities. The knowledge that someone like Lyndsey is out there to shine a light on your darkest hour is a comfort that not only soothes, it actually HEALS.
They say you never forget the people who stood with you when you’re at your lowest. I concur.
We will remain forever grateful to you, Lyndsey Gallagher, pandemic or not.
